FLAT CLOSE ON FRIDAY…!!!! NIFTY ENDS A TAD HIGHER

The BSE Sensex ended with a loss of 12 points at 24674. The BSE Sensex opened at 24666 touched an intraday high of 24736 and low of 24609 The India VIX (Volatility) index was down 2.96% to 16.4325. On the global front, China's Shanghai Composite index closed down 0.76% and Hang Seng up 0.51%. Indian stock markets closed little changed on Friday as investors took a pause before a busy week of corporate results, but the stock indexes posted their biggest weekly fall in six due to profit-taking in recent outperformers.NTPC, BHEL, Tata Power, Tech Mahindra, GAIL, Grasim, ACC, Eicher Motors and Yes Bank were among the gainers on NSE, whereas TCS, Hero MotoCorp, Maruti Suzuki, Infosys and Axis Bank were among the losers today. Mid-cap stocks outperform. The BSE Mid-cap index was up 0.5 per cent and the small-cap index was up 0.56 per cent. Rajshree Sugars and Chemicals Ltd rises 12.4% to Rs.54.80.  The realty, power, utilities, capital goods and oil & gas stocks were among the top gainers. Even the mid-cap and small cap stocks ended with gains. On the other hand, IT, consumer durables, auto stocks ended with marginal losses. DLF climbed 4.4% to Rs. 118.45. The company is planning to sell 40% in rental biz spanning 27 msf of developed real estate. Even as the global economy faces concerns over slowing growth, India is an economy that continues to stand out both for its external environment as well as its intrinsic strengthThe company said in a notice to BSE that its March sugar sales rises 39.5% from a year ago to 9,784 million tones. Out of 1,804 stocks traded on the NSE, 594 declined and 943 advanced today. Shares of Simplex Projects surged 16 per cent after the company sold 51.21 per cent stake in its arm Simpark Infrastructure, proceeds of which will be utilised for business purposes.
