Sensex close above 27,000, Nifty settles at 8,284 for 1st time since Oct 2015

Markets ended higher led by banks, amid firm global cues, after the RBI kept key policy rates unchanged amid inflation concerns but maintained an 'accomodative' monetary policy stance going forward.The Sensex ended up 232 points to settle above 27,000 at 27,010 for the first time since October 28, 2015 and the Nifty settled 91 points higher at 8,318. Alphageo (India) Ltd hits 20% upper circuit at Rs.660 after the company received Letters of Award of Contracts from ONGC for an estimated value of Rs. 1482 crore. Redington India soared 2.1% to Rs.104 on BSE. Harrow Investment Holding, the promoter of the company, has sold over 5% stake in two separate open market transactions for Rs. 219.4 crore. Shreyas Shipping & Logistics rallied 15.7% to Rs.373 after the company said that it has recently entered into a vessel sharing arrangement (VSA) with Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) on two of the services connecting East coast of India to West coast of India and vice versa along with Persian Gulf with addition of new ports commencing with effect from 9 June 2016.
GLOBAL MARKETS
Global shares firmed up after Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen did not signal any timing of a possible hike in US interest rate. Asian shares ended higher with Hong Kong’s Hang Seng gaining the most to settle over 1% higher. Among others in the region, Japan’s Nikkei,  China's Shanghi Composite and Singapore’s Straits Times ended up 0.1%-0.6% each. European shares also edged higher as the US Federal Reserve is unlikely to raise rates soon. The CAC-40, DAX and FTSE 100 were trading 0.6%-1.5% each.
