SENSEX ENDS LOWER, NIFTY BELOW 8,100

The Sensex ended at 26,307, down 67 points, while the broader Nifty closed at 8,082, down 22 points. Extending declines for the fifth trading day, the benchmark indices settled Tuesday's session lower. Mercator rose 5.78%. State Bank of India (SBI) (down 2.26%), Canara Bank (down 1.88%), Union Bank of India (down 3.6%), Bank of India (down 2.22%), Punjab National Bank (down 2.33%) Syndicate Bank (down 2.94%).
GLOBAL MARKET:
Most Asian indices ended down as shares in the emerging markets declined after the Bank of Japan kept its key policy rates unchanged. However, rates in Japan rose after the country's central bank upgraded its outlook for the Japanese economy.Straits Times traded at 2,911 and Hang Seng was at 21,729, both in red, whereas Nikkei 225 traded in green at 19,494 at the time of the filing of this report.
