SENSEX ENDS HIGHER BY 117 POINTS; NIFTY ABOVE 10,150

The Sensex and Nifty ended higher on Monday as telecom stocks rallied after Reliance Industries Ltd's Jio unit raised data tariffs last week, raising hopes it would usher more pricing discipline across the profit-challenged sector. Bharti Airtel, RIL, ICICI Bank and Wipro were top gainers with gains to the tune of 4.75%, 3.17%, 1.84% and 1.64%, respectively. Goa Carbon was locked in 5%. a lower circuit at Rs767. Axis Bank lost 2.47% to Rs 449. Gujarat State Petronet rose 3.22% to Rs 210.Gayatri Projects gained as much as 3.32% to Rs 194.60 
GLOBAL MARKET:
Asian share markets could get a tailwind from Wall Street's record finish on Friday when the passage of a US Senate budget resolution bolstered hopes that President Trump's tax-cut plan may move forward.The Dow had ended Friday's session with gains of 0.71 percent, while the S&P 500 rose 0.51 percent and the Nasdaq 0.36 percent. Early Monday, MSCI's broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan was a whisker firmer while South Korea put on 0.3 percent.

SENSEX CLOSES DOWN 25 POINTS AT 32,584, NIFTY AT RECORD HIGHS

Nifty retreated from record highs to end at 10,210 today. The Sensex too fell by about 25 points to close at 32,584.Nifty fell by 23 points or 0.23 percent to close at 10,210 after moving between 10,175 and 10,236.The Sensex resumed lower at 32,518 and fell further to a low of 32,462 before ending at 32,584, down 24 points or 0.08 percent. The Sensex had shed 24.48 points in yesterday’s trade. JBF Industries Ltd rose 8.6% to Rs 214.banking stocks too fell after poor results from Axis Bank. Dena Bank fell 5%, Yes Bank 2.6%, ICICI Bank 2.6%, State Bank of India 2.5%, Syndicate Bank 2%, Canara Bank 1.4%, Punjab National Bank 1.3%, Bank of India 1.2%, Allahabad Bank 1.1%. Future Lifestyle Fashions Ltd jumps 9% to Rs373.25 Avenue Supermarkets Ltd fell 5% to Rs 1157.90
GLOBAL MARKET:
Asian currencies were trading mixed. South Korean won was up 0.21%, China renminbi 0.20%, Singapore dollar 0.13%, Thai baht 0.1%. However, Malaysian ringgit was down 0.16%, Philippines peso 0.14%, Taiwan dollar 0.04%. The dollar index, which measures the US currency’s strength against major currencies, was trading at 93.461, down 0.03% from its previous close of 93.486.

NIFTY TRADING TIPS: NIFTY WEEKLY REPORT FOR 16 OCT TO 20 OCT 2017

MARKETS END AT RECORD HIGHS; NIFTY CLOSES ABOVE 10,200 FOR FIRST TIME EVER

The Sensex rose 200 points to close at an all-time high of 32,633 as investor optimism was buoyed by encouraging comments from the IMF chief. The Nifty too ended at a fresh life-time high of 10,230 points, showing gains of 63 points, or 0.62 percent, in its record-setting spree for the second session. Avenue Supermart Ltd rose 2% to Rs 1256. Bharat Financial Inclusion Ltd rose 2.7% to Rs 1030. Reliance Industries Ltd rose 1.2% to Rs887. Federal Bank shares rose 3.58% to Rs121. Bharti Airtel, M&M, Tata Motors and Hindustan Unilever were top gainers with gains to the tune of 4.54%, 3.59%, 2.99% and 2.49%, respectively.
GLOBAL MARKET:
Asian shares advanced to new highs on Monday following Wall Street’s lead, while US oil futures jumped to hover near a six-month peak as escalating tensions between the Iraqi government and Kurdish forces threatened supply.MSCI’s broadest index of Asia–Pacific shares outside Japan gained for a fifth day running to be up 0.3 percent after US stocks ended at record highs.
