SENSEX PLUNGES 263 POINTS AHEAD OF GDP DATA

The Sensex plunged nearly 270 points in the late morning trade due to offloading of positions by participants with today being the last day of November series contracts in the derivatives segment.Also, investors were cautious ahead of September quarter GDP data to be released later in the day.Sensex was down 263 points or 0.78 percent at 33,339 and Nifty was down 75 points or 0.72 percent at 10,286. Den Networks Ltd rose 2.3% to Rs95, McLeod Russel India Ltd fell 5% to Rs208, Banking stocks fell. Kotak Mahindra Bank fell 1.4%, Axis Bank 1.3%, State Bank of India 1.3%, Punjab National Bank 1.5%. Healthcare Global Enterprises Ltd rose 5% to Rs295. Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd rose 1.3% to Rs 2306. Jewellery stocks fell. Tara Jewels fell 8.3%, Gitanjali Gems Ltd declined 2.4%, PC Jeweller Ltd 1.8%, Titan Co Ltd 0.7%, Thangamayil Jewellery Ltd 3%. Steel Strips Wheels Ltd shares surged 3.31% to Rs950. Tribhovandas Bhimji Zaveri Ltd fell 15.52% to Rs116.
GLOBAL MARKET:
Asian shares fell on Thursday, weighed down by a plunge in high-flying technology shares, a move that some see as a healthy correction after a strong rally but others believe may herald the peak of a “supercycle” that has been boosting the sector.MSCI’s broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan dropped 0.5 percent, with technology bellwether Samsung Electronics falling 2.9 percent to two-month lows. Japan’s Nikkei dipped 0.1 percent, led by a 2.0 percent fall in electronic machinery makers

Sensex down 40 points; PSU, oil & gas stocks slip

The Sensex and Nifty were trading marginally lower due to profit-booking by funds and retail investors amid weak global cues. Sensex was down 40.07 points or 0.12 percent at 33,684.37 and the 50-share NSE index Nifty was down 8.55 points or 0.08 percent at 10,391. Time Technoplast Ltd rose 5.4% to Rs197.50 Mahanagar Gas Ltd rose 2% to Rs1,125.55 Rallis India Ltd rose 5% to Rs241.10 Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd fell 2% to Rs580.5
GLOBAL MARKET:
Asian shares stepped back from decade highs as Chinese stocks stumbled for a second straight session, while the US dollar trod water ahead of a crucial Senate vote on tax reform. MSCI’s broadest index of Asia–Pacific shares outside Japan slipped 0.3 percent from last week’s high of 570.21 points. It was on track to end November in the black.

SENSEX, NIFTY CLOSE MARGINALLY HIGHER, NTPC, AXIS BANK TOP GAINERS

Sensex and Nifty recovered from losses to close marginally higher on Monday. The market opened lower as broader sentiment was dampened after Standard & Poor’s retained the country’s sovereign rating. Sensex was up 38 points or 0.11 percent at 33,717 and Nifty was up 4.35 points or 0.04 percent at 10,394. Steel Strips Wheels Ltd shares jumped 6.76% to Rs984. Ramco Systems Ltd shares surged over 5% to Rs435. Cupid Ltd rose 7% to Rs274. Mindtree Ltd rose 3% to Rs525. Satin Creditcare Network Ltd rose 3% to Rs400. Lakshmi Vilas Bank fell 2.8%, Syndicate Bank 1.7%, Corporation Bank 1.1% Oil and Natural Gas Corp. Ltd rose 2% to Rs183.
GLOBAL MARKET:
Asian stocks gave back earlier modest gains and fell back from a decade high on Monday, weighed by weakness in the Chinese and South Korean markets, while the euro reached a two-month top against the dollar. MSCI’s broadest index of Asia–Pacific shares outside Japan rose early in the session on Friday’s Wall Street gains but was last down 0.65 percent
